Well like I already said earlier we have been spending a lot of time in So Cal lately. I was out there in October and surprised my sister on our birthday. Later that day Adri and Natalie came in and surprised Cassandra again. We went back for Thanksgiving, stayed all through Christmas and New Years, came back two weeks later, and then again three weeks ago for a last minute ten day stay.
Everyone knows that I like gardening and I have an awesome yard back in Florida. Well on our last trip I took a day and helped my sister tear up her flower (weed) beds in the backyard and did some landscaping. I put in some Jasmines and some stuff that I like and a couple things she picked out as well. We'll see how this turns out. Looks good now but still waiting for the flowers to bloom. Maybe in a couple weeks it will look good enough for a photo of my handy work.
One Saturday we decided to take all the kids to Tom's Farm in Corona. I hadn't been there since I was a kid. I just remembered all the candy shops and thought it would be fun. I remember when I was a small kid I was there with my grandma and she gave the cashier a dollar for something that cost 99 cents. When she didn't get her change my grandma actually asked for her penny change. I was only 7 or 8 at the time but I will never forget that.
Anyways we took the kids, did a little shopping, then let them go to the petting zoo and ride the ponies. Adri was so excited about the pony I had to buy her a second ride.
Sometime during the week we took a hike up Mt Rubidoux. I've been trying to get my family to go up for a while. I didn't get them all to go but I got my twin and Ryder to go with us. The next day we took a hike behind my parent's house. My sister was trying to resist that one, she was scared, but it was a lot of fun and none of the kids got hit by the trains (which didn't even go by while we were there).
The last Friday there we went on a date night with our friends, went to Anchos for some amazing Mexican food, and did something I hadn't done in a long time, bowling. I love bowling. However, this night was the poorest bowling I had done in a decade. I still had a lot of fun though.
The following day we went to Knott's. When we left Knott's Berry Farm I noticed bread crumbs and bird poo all over my car. I wasn't too amused. Apparently a friend of mine decided it would be a funny prank. I'm all for pranks but bird poo on my new car, not funny. So the next day I even on my way back to Arizona. I stopped by the church around 9:20. When I pulled up I was a little nervous because people were pulling in late. I thought for sure someone was going to see me doing my handy work. Well after 3 or 4 cars came in they stopped, no more. I had 5 minutes to shaving cream his windows, write something I'm sure he would love to drive around with, put the glove over the hitch, take some photos, and take off. I thought it was a funny prank. A little too far? Maybe.... But I had to do something creative that doesn't do damage and gets my point across. About an hour later he called me. From what I've heard everyone was talking about it the third hour in church. Haha...
