Zach's Birthday

Zachy Zach just had his 5th birthday. He was really excited about it and thought that the minute he turns five he's instantly a big boy. Of course thanks to his mom, and the video games we bought him, he is obsessed with Marvel superheros and had to have a superhero birthday.

We were planning on a big party. I managed to find myself a turkey and smoked it. Of course we plan for 40 and end up with 1/4 of that. A lot of people got sick or had something else come up so it ended up just being his one friend and his family and Natalie's cousin and her family. Zach didn't seem to care. Half the party he was off playing by himself. That's my Zach the self entertainer. He was very excited about his helicarrier and after everyone left he was walking around in circles with it for hours playing all by himself.

A couple things about Zach. Not that I love any of my kids more than the other, but at this point in our lives Zach is by far our easiest child. He's happy most the time, he doesn't talk back very often, he brushes his teeth without a fight, he puts himself to sleep (the one thing that pisses me off because he doesn't even say good night), he's just an all around easy kid. Sometimes he's quite and his verbal skills are not up there where Adri's were at his age but he's very observant and smart in his own way. I think he's a lot like me. He's got the ADD thing going where you think he has no idea what is going on then the next minute he's asking me why I'm running a red light when I turn right on red. He catches the small things that surprise me. He loves his brother and sister a lot. Some of the funniest words he says are "Seriously" and "Bistory" (destroy). He loves his Zach hair and has to have it done his way. You can't tell him otherwise, he wants his Zachy hair.
