Florida

In late September Natalie needed to go to Florida for a friend's wedding. I was out of vacation time however I get to work from home so I made it work out. Two weeks before our trip Hurricane Irma went through town. This was supposed to be worse than Andrew but it went further south than predicted so South Florida got spared the worst of it. By the time we got there power was back and life was returning to normal. There wasn't really any structural damage just a lot of yard debris and in my uncle's neighborhood everything was dead from the salt water.

We spent a week in Florida, went to the wedding, ate Cuban food, saw some friends, and I made one short trip to the beach. Like I said, I was working so Natalie got to have all the fun with the kids while I stayed home.

Each time I fly it seems like it becomes more chaotic. They broke my bottle of Mama Juana coming back and it made it's way into the case of my new 1911. After a traveling day from hell I had to learn how to field strip a 1911 that night and clean it all up. In the future we will be avoiding flying unless completely necessary. Our next trip to Florida will be with our truck and trailer. More on that one later.

Zach wouldn't let me help with his suitcase.
By my uncle Jose's house. Not too much damage. Just down trees and yard debris everywhere.
The bay across from Jose's.

Driving to the wedding in Coral Gables. A lot of yard debris in this area.
At some hotel for the wedding.

This was at the wedding. When I worked for immigration I worked in that crappy 3 story building right there on the river.
Nothing like some Miami tostones.

The one day I made it out the beach.
