June 27th my twin sister and her family came out for a 2 week visit. We had a lot of fun. The only thing that could have made it better is if I had more time off, oh and if Cassandra didn't have to watch the Bachlorette at my house. I picked them up from the airport on Wednesday night but didn't get time off work until Saturday so for the first couple days I had to work. The good thing is I get off work at 3:30. Another good thing is I bought a new car two days before they got here so we didn't have to get a rental.
On Wednesday after dinner we decided to catch a couple turtles behind my house. You can see them in the pictures at the bottom. We decided to have a little fun with the first one I caught so we put it on it's back to see if it could flip itself over. Adri picked up what looked like a big piece of grass from one of my banana plants and was putting it by the turtle's mouth saying "eat the grass". After catching the first one everyone except Maurina and Me went inside. I caught the second one and had to have everyone come out to check it out. Why was this one different? This one proves we have gators nearby in our canal. It was missing a piece of it's shell, it had been bitten on it's side. Maurina kept trying over and over again to catch a turtle but was messing it up everytime. Eventually she listened to my advice and she caught one. Not only did she catch one but she caught a really stupid one. Why really stupid? Because it was the same one I had caught with the gator bite out of it's shell.
The rest of the week we did swimming, night swimming, eating, watching movies, and drinking milkshakes. On Friday night we had to get ready for our big trip, far far away to Nassau. Saturday morning we left for Nassau where we stayed until the following Friday. I'll write about that trip in the next post. For now, I'll skip to the next Friday. So the next Friday we got back and relaxed around the house and in the pool.
Saturday we went to a waterpark in West Palm Beach that we attempted to go to 3 years ago when they were all out here. I say attempted because the last time we drove up there and waited for 3-4 hours for the intense rain to stop. When it wouldn't let up we had to leave and go to Hollywood. This time it was clear, sunny, and hot. It's a good park and has a lot of fun slides. But the people there are some of the most ghetto people in all of Florida and we only got on a few slides the whole day. People were taking cuts in all the lines, they're loud and rude, and I think some of them need mirrors. There was one big slide that we were able to take Adri on so it was the first ride of the day. It was a very big slide that you ride down on a raft. It goes fast and it goes through really dark tunnels. I wish I had brought my video camera to see Adriana's face. She wasn't scared, not even in the dark tunnels, but she wasn't laughing either. She just had this frozen look on her face. I tried to take her on it a second time later in the day when she was tired and she screamed most of the way down. There was a small slide I was able to ride down with her and there was a play area for toddlers where she could only go alone. Almost all day she was afraid to go on this slide alone but finally at the end of the day she went on it and then kept trying to go on over and over again. One of the funniest, but also most disgusting moments of the day was after dinner in the Sonny's parking lot when I looked at Cody and noticed a puddle underneath him. He decided to go pee right there in the parking lot, inside his clothes!
Sunday was a our beach day. We got up really early and went to Hollywood Beach. We went early because I figured it would be stormy. 15 minutes after we got there a storm moved in within 5 miles of the beach and stayed parked there. We thought we would eventually have to leave but the storm didn't move. We stayed completely dry. But once we got back to my house we could see that we got 2 inches of rain there. All the water we had splashed in the pool had been replaced in just a couple hours.
Monday I had to work. We had movie night and I fell asleep. Tuesday I took off work and we went to Holiday Park to ride the airboats. When we were waiting to get on the airboats there was a gator right at the dock. I'm used to seeing gators all over the place, even on the roads down at shark valley, but I was just a little surprised to find one under the dock where the airboats go in and out all day. After our airboat ride we went to the cafe for a snack. The media happened to be in front of us in line. They were doing a story on the park and they ended up getting video of my sister's family trying gator bites for the first time.
Here is the video of us on the news.
After eating gator bites we went to the alligator show. This is where they film the show "gator boys". After the show I was checking out their biggest gator and noticed he had a Romney sticker on him. I had to take a picture with him and afterwards I realized I had picked the perfect shirt to wear that day. As you can see I wore my FBO shirt. The kid working there was telling me how he's their campaign gator and then went on a rant about how we need a president that can fix this country and Obama isn't working. This kid was a whole 12 years old so it was pretty funny. I told them their gator should wear my shirt. I told them I can't tell them what the F stands for but the BO stands for Barack Obama. On our way out of the park I heard two peacocks fighting so I decided to check it out. They weren't just fighting, they were fighting by one of the most expensive cars in the parking lot. And they didn't just mess up one side of the car, the got both sides. After we finally left the park we went to Stir Crazy and then had our last hangout night. I made another round of mango/jackfruit shakes and then fell asleep watching Jack & Jill (stupid movie). I woke up too early the next morning for work so I didn't get to see anyone before they left. Hopefully next time they come out I'll have more time off. 10 tens off work just wasn't enough.

Check out the piece of shell missing on this one just above the fingers on my left hand. Only a gator could have done that.
The deepest canals in S.Florida. I think he said one of them is 35 feet deep.

Two peacocks were fighting near this car. The messed up both sides of the car pretty bad.
