Zach's First Birthday

A couple weeks ago we celebrated Zach's first birthday. This year I decided I would take over on the cake. For some reason I had Natalie worried but I'm a skilled professional. I made 95% on my own with minor logistical support from my twin sister. I even did all the shopping for supplies on my own. While making the frosting I added a really high concentrate of vanilla and thought it would be too much but everyone loved it. My brother in law even told everyone that I schooled them in how to make frosting (not in those exact words though).

So now that Zach is one what he is up to?

  • Not quite talking yet. Making noises but doesn't want to talk.
  • Still refusing to walk. He's doing the same thing my nephew did. I try to stand him up to help him walk and he lifts up his legs.
  • Zach loves Baby Einstein. If I tell him I'm putting it on for him he gets very excited.
  • Zach loves his sister even though she terrorizes him. He will follow her all around the house. Adri likes to hold Zach's hand while he falls asleep.
  • Zach loves to eat and he takes it serious. Adri was, wait is, a real pain in the butt when it's time to eat. She is constantly distracted playing with her food and talking. Zach is all business. See how fast I can get all the food on that plate in my belly.
  • One of Zach's favorite games is animal noises. I name an animal and make the noises. His favorites are frog and horse. Three things will make a grumpy Zach calm down; playing animal, watching the video of him playing animal noises, or humming/singing Baby Einstein music.
  • Zach's favorite time of the day is bath time. Bath, shower, doesn't matter. The kid just loves the warm water.
  • Zach is now in the 80th percentile for height. Probably doesn't mean anything especially since the same doctor said he was 30th percentile a few months ago.

I don't know if the kid fell or if he is playing mechanic.
