My Lil Chub Butt

Well since I'm still playing catch up on my blog some stuff is out of order and I'm going back and forth like a bad movie. But before I write my Christmas blog I had to write down some stuff about the little chubs before I forget. She's growing too fast and I really need to start doing weekly blog post. So here are some random stories.

A couple months ago Adriana learned the word "no" and it's one of her favorites. One morning she wanted milk so I asked her if she wants milk. She said no. Then she said Milk. I said you want milk? Her reply, "no". We kept playing this game until finally she said yes. I gave her the milk and then the little stinker looked at me and said no.

A couple weeks ago Adri got a shot at the doctor. She got a very large welt from it. When I got home I thought that a mosquito on steroids bit her or Natalie dropped her or beat her or something. It was a reaction to one of her shots. Well now everyday for the last three weeks she will randomly look at us and say "doctor". Then she'll say "boo boo" or sometimes she'll wait until we say what about the doctor and then she says "boo boo" and gets the sad look. I can't believe the memory of this kid.

Which brings us to yesterday. Yesterday we were at the park and she had a fall. She was running with her arms up all happy to be free and then she fell on the asphalt. I didn't know she scraped her left knee and there was only a tiny amount of blood but she was screaming up a storm. So we got her all cleaned up and she was fine as long as she didn't see it. But then Natalie decided to ask her about her boo boo. I wanted to strangler her! Adri looked down and the tears started up again. So how long did this last? Well 3-4 hours later we were talking to my neighbor Stephanie and I showed Stephanie Adri's scrape and Adri started crying again. Such a sensitive child. And it continued into the night. Natalie had to put a long pajama dress on her so she couldn't see her boo boo.

Other Adri developments. Lately she has been a clingy bug with me. It's really cute. Sometimes when I'm busy it can be a little annoying but it's still really cute. When Daddy is home she wants to be with Daddy all the time. She cries whenever I go somewhere. There is a picture of me and her in the pool a year ago and she likes to walk around the house with it hugging and kissing it, even when I'm home. Funny kid. She's also at the age where she calls me at work and says "I wuv you".

Adri has become very jealous with Daddy. She gets jealous even if Natalie puts her arm around me and she will push Natalie away or once I think she even hit Natalie.

Lately she also likes to call Grandpa and Aunt Cis but once she gets on the phone she is quite and shy for some reason.

On New Year's Eve she was being the funniest little sticky bug. I was on the stool putting up curtains for Natalie and Adri kept running up and climbing on the first step and grabbing onto my legs from behind. Cutest thing but makes it really hard to work when she keeps doing that to me. She also likes to run up to me and turn around and put my arms around her. When is it that this is suppose to change and my daughter is suppose to start hating me?

Natalie had three weeks off work so she took Adri to the park next to my work a couple times during lunch and we had a picnic and played on the swings. Adri was very happy to spend her lunch time with me. We chased squirrels and played on the swings and slides. Here is a video of her playing on the slide and chasing squirrels.

Her vocabulary is insanely good for a baby her age. Natalie does flash cards with her and I take her outside and teach her all the nature stuff. She is now up to four syllable words. Some of her funniest words are bahberries, cat-ah-pill-er (points her finger and shakes it during each syllable), hepeecoopta, mamatoes, Buggle Buggle Bear, and Dupiter. I know there are others but I can't think of them right now.

Here she is with me Christmas weekend at Orchid Park playing on the swings.

She likes doing crazy things. She likes to move her chair around, grab her stuff, sit down, get up, move her chair again, and repeat. She likes to open and close her Dora couch/bed we got her for Christmas and a couple days after Christmas Natalie caught her putting all her bowling pin animals and Buggle Buggle Bear in her car with her.

Bath time is probably Adri's favorite part of the day. I used to not like having bath time with Adri due to the fact that I had to worry about giving her a bath and I couldn't shower myself. Well now that she's bigger I just put her in her ducky tub and let her play while I shower. She loves it. She splashes and I bought her a bunch of water toys and I quiz her on the sea animals. I got a long video of her in the bath but I won't post it on here. On New Year's Eve the plan was to go swimming. I thought the pool was 80 degrees but it was only 76. I jumped in, I survived, but I thought it might be a little too cold for the baby. So I put the cover back on until February and I let her have 20 minutes of playtime in the bath. She was pretty upset when she got turned away from the pool, already in her swimsuit, but she forgot all about it once she had her bath time. At the end of bath time she likes to yell "eyes 1,2,3" and then throw her face under the shower head. Crazy kid.

After her bath time our neighbor Zoe came over to play with Adri. Zoe is six and we like having Zoe come over because she keeps Adri busy and we can actually get stuff done. The last couple times Adri has seen Zoe she runs up to her and says "Zoe, hug". It's too cute. Whenever we take her outside she calls for Zoe too. She says Zoe, Nala (their dog), cat sleeping.

And that is some of recent the craziness in our lives. Maybe later I'll remember some more to blog about.
