So this weekend I took my boy scouts up to St.Cloud (3 hours north), for a camping trip. It was fun and great to get out of Miami for a couple days and see something other than the concrete jungle. Plus people are so much nicer up north. Down here everyone is pissed off. I go to walmart or publix and they don't say a word to me while ringing up my merchandise. No hello, no goodbye, nothing. They are just rude. At our stop in Ft Pierce everyone was nice and polite. I hate living so close to Miami,I'm really not happy here, which brings up my future plans.
I would love to move to Naples right now but it's just not gonna happen. In Naples a 3,000 sq ft home with 2.5 acres and a forest all around is only 275,000! That is the way I'd like to live. But that lifestyle is on the back burner for 10-15 years.
Our plan for now is to get as far from this place as we can and still keep our jobs. We are looking at Boca Raton and Coral Springs. In Coral Springs for just under 300,000 we could get a nice 3,200 sq ft home with a pool and not a 2.5 acre yard, but a decent sized one. Both those cities are far from all this garbage and are rated in the top ten US cities to raise a family.
Anyways, I was just thinking about all this moving stuff even more this weekend when I left town. Everthing is different once you get to Northern Broward, only 20 minutes north of the armpit I currently call home. There are more trees and not these ugly envasive Austrailian Pines everywhere, it's cleaner, and it's just a whole different lifestyle. Well that's my plan.
Back to my campout. On the way home one of my boys thought he would fall asleep, and not put on his seatbelt. Perfect chance for a brake check. So right before I got on I-95 I slammed the brakes and the two other boys and I yelled at the top of our lungs. The sleeper woke up starteled and I told him "you forgot to put on your seatbelt". I don't think he'll make that mistake again.
At the campsite I took the boys for a nature hike at night. I almost hit an armidillo and a possum driving there so we figured there is a lot of wildlife to check out. We found a lot of frogs and one of the boys caught an anole, which ran up my ear.
